non-GMO corn, rye, and soy. The non-GMO corn we produce from Sagamore Farm fully satisfies our corn needs for producing our low-rye whiskey mash bill. Sagamore Farm is also home to our Spring House, which was built in 1909, as refer enced on the front of every bottle of Saga more Rye Whiskey. The mineral rich, lime stone filtered water that emerges from our Spring House is used to proof every bottle of Sagamore Rye Whiskey.
In 2018, Sagamore Spirit forged a ground breaking partnership with the University of Maryland Agricultural Extension to cul tivate trial crops of diverse rye varietals. Through these trials Serafino Rye was one of the varietals that had excellent quality for making whiskey and is currently the type planted by our local farming community and at Sagamore Farm.
